Mitt Romney the Unofficial Republican Nominee (ContributorNetwork)

COMMENTARY | Well, like it or not, after Tuesday's win in the Florida primary, Mitt Romney is the most likely Republican nominee, and he will get the chance to go against Barack Obama in November. Some of us will just have to suck it up and vote for him since we can't survive another four years of Obama.

At least Romney, unlike Obama, is saying he is for the true middle class and wants to get them working again, unlike the class warfare coming from the Democrat campaign. In the Los Angeles Times today Romney was quoted as saying he is for "the middle income families most hurt by the Obama economy."

He said the poor already have a safety net and the rich are doing just fine on their own, it is the middle income people who need the help. While he still hasn't given any answers as to what he will do, he isn't saying he wants to give everyone a fair share, i.e. income redistribution. This is the right approach.

We can no longer afford to keep increasing spending, especially on entitlement programs that are already out of control. According to a Census report quoted on Investors.com, one in five households has one person living in them who is on some kind of entitlement program. These programs are paid for through those who actually work and pay taxes, the true middle income families.

We can only hope Romney, when he is elected, doesn't forget these people. They are the backbone of this country, always have been and always will be. Instead of making everyone equal by taking from those who actually earn their income and giving it to those who don't, he needs to get everyone working again. Obama has created a society of people whose only concern is "How much free stuff can I get" and unless changes are made soon, this country will become bankrupt.

At least Romney has run businesses, unlike the current occupant of the White House who no one is really sure if he has ever even held a job. While we still can't come out and whole heartedly endorse Romney, even he is an improvement, and right now we need all the help we can get.
